Hotel linen after using for a long time or repeated washing, will change its color, look shabby, even damaged, so that the new added linen and old linen have obvious differences in color, appearance and other aspects. There are some linen due to poor management, improper operation and flecky stains, such as yellow rust, black oil, for this type of hotel linen should be replaced in time, to get them out of service process, and should not be used again. Otherwise it will affect the quality of customer service, and make the hotel profit loss.
 
Hotel linen common damage and durablity conditions
 
100%pure cotton: broken hole, edge and angle of rupture, folding off, thin and easy to break, the color becomes muddy, soft towel to reduce. 

Cottonpoly Blending: the color becomes cloudy, the cotton part falls off, loses the elasticity, breaks the edge and the angle, the folding edge falls off.  
           
When got the above damage, should consider to replace the new linens.
Generally speaking, the washing times of linen as below:
 
100%cotton bed sheets and pillowcases: 130~150 times
(65%, 35%; blended polyester cotton): 180~220times
Towel:100~110 times
tablecloth, Napkin: 120~130 times
 
The above washing times is based on the requirements of the international first-class hotel. Although it’s approved after the washing testing, but not as an authoritative absolutely standard. Because at this moment there’s no relevant stipulation “about linen durablity and damage” in this industry. Pls take it as a reference standard. The different hotels’ requirements vary.
Most of the hotels linens are washed by outside laundry. Unprofessional washing or the cost controlled without lower limit, often causing damages to the linen which put into use again will seriously affect guest's experience.    
  in general, the hotel cotton products storage standards ranging from 3 to 5 sets, depending on the hotel occupancy rate, laundry operations, departmental budget and other factors. Generally the minimum standard is 3 sets, one is used in various departments, one is in the laundry, the other is stored in the warehouse.
Service life of linen is a very important consideration. The linen is gradually replaced when the damaged reach to the level. The old linen natural damage and abnormal damage should be treated differently
